Re: [MERGED] Windows 8 discussion
There is no way I'd have the start button back - it's a lot easier for me now that I can just listen to what the tiles are when the pc is loaded up.

Re: [MERGED] Windows 8 discussion
I don't like to use addons, so i am hoping for a boot to desktop and i am looking forward to a real start button and i will be happy if i can make it go to a default apps start screen with the same background as i currently use on my desktop to make it look seamless.

same here as find it much faster to get programs without start menu but think Microsoft should give a option for one for people like sirius that want one I believe the start screen will keep improving 8.1 is a good start

Re: [MERGED] Windows 8 discussion
I'm sure Microsoft are going to give a token start type thing, but I'm not sure they should - still as long as it makes people happy then that's cool

Yes i know, looking forward to never needing to see the start screen again in its current form as i never use it, but i am happy if they make it default to the app view of it more like a start menu which they're rumoured to be doing.

I have it working on windows 8 pro, was a pain to get it working, if I remember what I did I'll post it later. However, given that google no longer supports active sync, only mail works and it's not the best app in the world. Probably best to look for an alternative.

Did you somehow turn cleartype off or you're not using the native resolution?

Clear type is on. It's in Internet explorer.
It did it when I first updated to or 9 and then 10 but randomly goes away after a few months
