NTL disabled 2 of my email accounts despite both being active..... help!
Hi guys,
in the last 5 or 6 days 2 of my email accounts with NTL have stopped working, the passwords do not work and I just tried sending a test email to both of them and I got a message about "invalid recipient" - both email addresses have been in use within the last 60 days, one of them is my mum's email account and she has been sorting out her divorce with silicitor's via email so she is particularly annoyed at being unable to access it.
Please could someone let me know what I need to do, I dont get why they suddenly stopped working, especially not being notified about it at all!

officially you need to ring technical support so they can check them, but alternatively, PM me the username of a working email address that you have and the 2 that have stopped working and i'll have a look at this for you tomorrow.

just on the phone to tech support atm, seems when I moved house they decided to scrap both email accounts I originally had WITHOUT notifying us, really helpful, that has peeved me off quite a bit, especially as my mum needs to read very important emails which have now probably disappeared *sigh*.... will let you know an update in a minute, just on hold right now

thanks  ask the tech that you speak to whether they have sent the details to Server Support. If so, get a reference number. I'll be able to check on it then and be able to let you know when it is done  usually takes about 24-48hours.

hi mate,
I got the reference number, the guy I spoke had a word with Customer Service who told him that they will not be able to merge the email accounts into the new account until the Data Protection Act requirements are fulfilled.
Before we moved house all the NTL things were in my dad's name but when we moved to Hertford we signed up with NTL and changed everything into my Mum's name, so I have to have both my Mum AND Dad available to speak to NTL to allow the migration to occur (bloody infuriating if u ask me)
do I run the risk of getting charged twice for my broadband service? cause the old email addresses are attached to the old account?

hmm...
sounds like the old account has been disconnected anyway so there isn't a risk of being charged twice. Was your mum named with access on the old account? if so only she will need to call. If they can't both speak at the same time, you can get them to ring seperately and ask to have it noted on the account that they have given the necessary information for the migration to go ahead.
If you PM me the reference number i'll have a little looky at what has actually happened.

Hi Monkeybreath and Simcut, I'd be interested if you manage to retrieve your suspended email! Remember me MB? I am still waiting for NTL to reply to my letter of a month ago. The guy at Tech Sercice who apparently escalated my suspended email problem STILL has not responded now 6 weeks later and now never will. Believe me they have no 'reinstatement process'.
