I must admit that it's not my cup of tea.
I do remember that even when the Sky Basics were removed, there was a channel that simucast Sky Poker for part of the day!

Coulsontom, totally agree with you mate, VM keep bringing out these crap channels, yet channels that WE want on the network don't appear.
They have the usual ring from VM that we are in talks to bring the best tv to our custiomers. How many more shopping channels are we going to get - OR they might belong to the same company ?

Sky Atlantic is not financially viable and Premier Sports refuse to a suitable deal. What else do you want?

Considering these "crap channels" will be paying VM to carry them, I don't see what the problem is. Watch them, don't watch them. Your call. More choice is good, even if that particular channel isn't my cup of tea.

And even if you were, if it is part of a package, you just need to suck it up.

Virgin don't run the business for any individual taste, they do it for all tastes, and for the money. They are not in business for the customer, just suffice the customer to a certain extent.

Well said Jamesh, it is not just Arthur on this occasion though. it's Mad Max and CoulsonTom as well.
I will also join you in asking all of these people what channels they think they are missing, other than the two channels you mention and some HD variants.
If these lesser watched channels help pay for Sky Atlantic, where is the problem?

In fact, there are some of the crappy niche channels that can be of some interest to me such as Information TV, JML Direct (I love JML) or possibly even one of the three gaming channels available on Sky. The more crap channels we have, the more revenue we can gain for THE Sky Atlantic and the remaining top channels we do not have.

Maybe that is why Sky have so many crap channels; they can be able to raise enough funds from those small, niche channels to gain rights to more major new channels and/or US imported channels in the future.

 | Sounds about right to me... Virgin should have more channels like this for extra income... i would not watch them but each to there own |

So a handful of people on here have the same opinion, remember this is only an internet forum which thousands of people who are Virgin customers probably never use, and i'd bet many of them have the same opinion as myself, CoulsonTom, and Arthur.

 | They are FTA on satellite, the only revenue Sky would get is the small charge it makes for the EPG number on Sky boxes, Freesat also charge a small fee for an EPG number on their boxes, for standard satellite boxes they create their own EPG list.

These channels have to pay the satellite owners (Astra or Eutelsat) for capacity and an uplink provider etc.

			All I watch:BBC 1, 2
 ITV1, 3,4
 Gold, Alibi, Dave
 Com Central
 Nat Geo
 Sky movies & sports
 ESPN

That's literally all I watch. But you need XL TV for those channels.

 | You should look up TalkTalk once YouView IPTV channels launch, they have Gold, Alibi, Com Cen & Nat Geo in their £10 TV pack.

To me the most useful addition was the H2 channel to the L pack. thankyou Virgin Media, I loved these kinds of channels on Sky.
Now if only they'l give us the History channel too lol. Or Nat Geo.

TLC, and TLC + 1 on L package, wow, I got a + 1 channel of a dreadful channel.. I can't stand anything that airs on it lol
