If you're going to watch the football live, you've effectively reserved one of the tuners, so whether you record it as well, is immaterial to what Tivo has to do with other planned recordings.

If the football match has just been recorded, it will be one of the top 3 positions in My Shows, so easy to locate. I'll add on an extra 20 seconds to delete it. So in total, 30 seconds of your time garantees an interuption free football match.

Whilst v+ guarantees me interruption free football without the loss of any of my time, which I think makes my point - that sometimes having a dedicated live TV tuner is a good thing - a fair one?

Where we can obviously agree is that we would both recommend the op get a TiVo.
