Which is exactly why the nation should take responsibility, follow the creed of your sig, and not expect the government to wet nurse them.

Re: Politicians should consider banning high sugar children’s foods

Obesity is a problem ,that is true ,but what is the point of legislation like this without lifestyle changes to go with it .Anyone who has been trying to lose weight will tell you it is not simply about eating less sugary food ,a persons lifestyle is just as important so with this in mind when will the government pass laws to force us all to have 5 mile runs in the morning ,compulsory gym membership or forced bike ownership to keep us all fit when we are eating less sugary foods .

If kids and some adults are still going to be sitting watching tv or playing computer games for hours on end they will still get fat even with less sugar intake .Education is the way forward

To be fair a healthy diet is the most important factor in maintaining a healthy weight. If you eat reasonably then that can make the biggest difference.

It doesn't have to be binary - why not educate and legislate?

I don’t have a problem with legislation designed to encourage health eating or the production of lower sugar products. It’s when politicians start using the B word I get upset. Compelling people to change to something the government of the day decides is best doesn’t have a good track recorded of working.
