Seems to make no difference, I was speaking to retentions and was told no early upgrade, as it happens my area was due to be upgraded in December this year and they actually delivered last week.

I don't honestly believe VM (or any other company for that matter) would provide a timeframe that is not deliverable or realistic. Hell even Apple delayed iTunes 11 a month
