rewinding v+ at midnight

rewinding v+ at midnight

first time ive done it, what a pain in the ass, wanted to rewind 20seconds, cant stop it,now its at the start!

Yeah that annoyed me too, think midnight is when Virgin do their updates. Haven't noticed it on TiVo though.

Longstanding problem with the V+. Don't attempt to do anything with the box, especially anything with recordings at the midnight hour (or 1:00am in BST). Once the V+ starts it's daily updates for the EPG and related stuff, everything else is on very low priority of responsiveness. Clearly nobody at Virgin every thought people would use the V+ at midnight, and even once they realised that we do, they never thought to find a workaround in the software to correct the processing priorities

Used to find this with our Scientific Atlanta box, but the Samsung is a lot better. I now find that it's very slow setting or cancelling planned recordings just after midnight, but normal rewinding/OnDemand etc is fine.
