Re: P2P traffic capped at 0800

people said 2 years ago sky had shaping coming, they are still wrong.

sky spent a lot of cash upgrading their network prior to rolling out FTTC, they have publicly stated the no shaping policy is here to stay.

Dont assume because a few isp's shape everyone has to do it and yes its a small miniority of isp's that shape, most dont.

Sky's totally unlimited and no shaping service is their key differentiator and unique selling point. They're not ditching it anytime soon.

They also did brag about having the fastest backbone in the country at one point...

Re: P2P traffic capped at 0800

Also the FTTC/FTTP network is newly built and designed for data traffic, VM's network was designed for transmitting TV so you would hope that they done their homework and added enough capacity to allow people to actually use their speed to download/upload something.

When I was with sky using their adsl2 service I have to say it was very good and never had any slowdowns. I would gladly go back to SKY with FTTC if I had the chance but no FTTC in my town yet...

Re: P2P traffic capped at 0800

Not quite.

The equivalent section to the part of VM's network that was designed for transmitting TV was designed for voice phone calls on the FTTC network.
