P2P traffic capped at 0800
This is both interesting and very annoying. I am doing my usual Monday morning routine and uploading several files which I know I should have absolutely no probs in maxing out my upstream but the cumulative speed won't budge above 300k/sec. I thought it might just be congestion but I have run a couple of speed tests and I can get 10mbit no probs. This leads me to believe VM are shaping my traffic and have maybe implements parts of their new traffic management system. It is pathetic having the speed available and not being able to use it so if this continues throughout the week then I am out of here. I would rather go to 52/17 on Infinity than my alleged 100/10 on VM which is actually whatever they feel like giving me.

P2P is capped on Infinity too. What you want is Sky.

Re: P2P traffic capped at 0800
To what extent? Is it like stm where you can download and upload so much before being spanked or is permanently flagged as low priority?

flagged as low priority during peak hours (same as VM) whereas sky is completely unlimited 24/7

Interesting. If Infinity have got so much extra capacity even low priority traffic should get good speed

Re: P2P traffic capped at 0800
They have extra capacity at the moment as their headline download speed is 80Mb/s, 330Mb/s is released across the network in january, with speeds up to 1Gb/s to follow

Sky will be the the next one to be capped P2P in due course. There will be bye bye to p2p, torrents by the year 2014. End of the road for p2p.

The problem is that i will only ever benefit from the speed when i do high volume downloads and for me that is torrents and usenet. If i am going to be throttled to silly speeds then there id no point me paying for a fast connection
