Re: US Election 2012
Now the two speeches to look forward too. The concession speech is always interesting.

Best of all Obama will now get the credit for the likely economic recovery.
The Republicans need to reinvent their party.

Well, maybe the Republicans will have a more moderate candidate next time. And they need to learn to compromise.

Re: US Election 2012
Sky News talking of New US vs Old US. Losers wanting old US. New US, Obamas side celebrate new US. Women had a big say in re-electing Obama. If thats true then theres your up yours Romney.

A victory for moderation and America breathes a sigh of relief.

Re: US Election 2012
Obama takes Nevada and Colorado. Very likely to take the big Florida. Virginia likely too.

Romney's not conceding yet. They think Ohio has been called early.

Re: US Election 2012
Romney has spoken to Obama on the phone and is heading to the Republican gathering to make a speech. The result isn't in doubt, it's quite clear, Obama has won reelection.

Re: President Obama reelected to a second term
Whilst pleased Obama has won again, I wonder how many people voted like they did in 2004. 'We vote for him again now, then he can't run for President again'.
Where I think the Republicans are going wrong, is that everytime Palin, McCain or Romney opened their mouths people just went 'oh damn, another George Bush'. If they stopped sounding like they are from the South of America and sleep with their cousins then they might have a better chance of winning. My opinion though.

Re: President Obama reelected to a second term
Obama winning is a good thing imo simply because the world right now needs a bit of continuity and stability ,also it kind of gives a bit of hope to the conservatives in this country that despite having to make unpopular and divisive decisions there is still hope they can win our next election

Re: President Obama reelected to a second term
Perhaps now the Beeb can bring home all the radio and TV presenters and other staff they've sent over to the US to cover the show.
