Angry 'Care' home abusers jailed!

Quote:
Six out of 11 care workers who admitted a total of 38 charges of neglect or abuse of patients at a private hospital have been jailed.

Five other workers from Winterbourne View near Bristol were given suspended sentences after the acts of abuse were uncovered by BBC Panorama.

Ringleader Wayne Rogers, 32, who admitted nine counts of ill-treating patients, was jailed for two years.

What disgusting people!

Quote:
The home's owners, Castlebeck, said there had been "extensive changes in board and management" and new measures introduced to ensure it could not happen again.
Let's also hope that effective and independent monitoring procedures are also put in place or there's nothing to stop this sort of thing happening again.

Re: 'Care' home abusers jailed!

Wonder how they'd feel if those responsible for their welfare whilst in prison were to behave in a similar manner!

Well Marty, when you consider that Patten, Entwistle, Boaden etc. were in the dark with regards to the alleged Savile atrocities... You could infer that those further up the chain of command were also in ignorance. Added to this is the fact that I shall be the first passenger on the Virgin Galactic spacecraft

Re: 'Care' home abusers jailed!

I wonder if any of them have kids of their own? and/or whether they've been taken away?

Hell, if not, they should have their ability to HAVE kids, taken away, heh.

Re: 'Care' home abusers jailed!

I never watched the programme, and thur the comments on here I glad I didn't, for a persons liberty and respect to be abused goes beyond words. Unfortunately as is with all crimes it's to late to say sorry THE DAMAGE HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE! Hopefully the culprits get what they deserve, not that I condone violence, but once they get behind bars I hope they get treated as they did wrong to those they hurt.

Re: 'Care' home abusers jailed!

For me personally, the acts of violence and neglect shocked me, but the upsetting part was seeing the parents watching the videos recorded of their daughters/sons being abused.

Ugh.
