Firstly there is no need to open multiple threads on the same subject.

As far as I am aware the remote controls all work on the same frequencies. There isn't a way to code one for one box and another on a different box.

Perhaps your girls might need to learn the use of their feet to walk to the STBs and change buttons, although that isn't a lot of use for all functions. If you can get some separation with the STB locations, so at least they are in different parts of the room, you might be able to experiment with the directional pointing of remotes so it's signal is then received only by one STB. Problem though is signals can reflect off some surfaces.

Re: 2 boxes in one room

Yes Rob you are right as l have 2 STB's in the main room in our house but l have positioned then in different parts of the room so that when l press the remote it does not interfere and thus the signal on the other STB is not affected.

Re: 2 boxes in one room

i used to have this problem back in the mists of time when i had two old ntl boxes i set both of the boxes as far back as i could on two shelves in the tv Cabinet that we had this meant there was a very narrow angle where the remote could affect the infra red sensor there by allowing us to choose which one was operated by the remote by angling it up and down .putting a shelf in between them jutting out would work just as well i would have thought ( if i havnt explained that very well i will try harder lol i will see if i can find a diagram )
