Re: The iPhone thread
Well, got my brand spanking new iPhone 5 ordered. T Mobile full monty. Actually, the contract I was on with O2 only costs a fiver less each month, and doesn't offer anywhere near what Full Monty offers in terms of minutes, text and data. So, I probably would have changed anyway..
Just have to hope it doesn't take too long after Friday to arrive.

Re: The iPhone thread
That'll probably appear around 6 or 7pm. Apple tend to release major iOS upgrades at the start of their working day, and they are 8 hours behind us.

I've just installed iOS6
It's good
I like there is now a mode called do not disturb lol under settings
It's been floating around for a few days already.
If anything like last time a big update came out was anything to go by its worth doing it early or late because last time while world tried to update at same time and it overloaded apples servers.. Was taking like 6 hours to download and when it came to install it was showing errors because iTunes couldn't communicate with apple servers.
Nightmare

You sure? The only officially available downloads (and being a registered developer, I have access to them) are the various betas and the GM. Now the final version of 6.0 has been released, you can expect these to expire in the next 2 weeks.

It's a golden master.
The betas aren't always usable because they validate the phone against your account.
Golden master is the same as they have been preloading on the iPhone 5 coming out the factory, albeit a different variant.
But I'm not bothered if it does expire because by that time the apple servers will be back to normal.
I just didn't want a repeat of before.
Have a reasonably fast connection and it was telling me 9 hours to download then when I did it wouldn't install because the validation portion wouldn't connect with apple servers.
Really frustrating lol

Re: The iPhone thread
Fair enough. The reason I put the warning is simply that I know of cases where people have tried the betas (even a GM, IIRC) and it's expired when they are in a situation where they need a phone and are no where near a computer they can use to unbrick the phone.
