I'm pretty much certain that the poster was talking about the hub which is supplied by Sky. As already posted the SH has a gigabit switch.

Never going to happen as Virgin Media need to control your device.

No idea but I would hope that they have come to their senses and bought an off the shelf product as in the old days.

Re: new Hub to be released?

As I've said before, I'm sure if VM approached one of the mainstream manufactures there would be no problem with putting the VM logo on an off the shelf product - when you consider that the number of units shipped could run into the millions over the life of a contract.

Cheers

Grim

Just because the last version they were going to build failed doesn't mean they aren't part of the current list of possible vendors.

erm, peter_ ..... he said there was a device currently being tested, which to my knowledge is pretty hard without a vendor

Doesn't mean there is a vendor selected.

They could be testing a device from a few different vendors with a view to picking the best one that meets their specs to get the contract.

Thats what would probably be the process afaik.

Even if I was still an employee the could be nothing more posted with regards vendor but it is not Samsung but the are other suppliers out there who are happy to sully their reputation by supplying a replacement Superhub.
