can confirm rearm works (this is not piracy or in breach of EULA as it is part of the operating system. The rearm can be run 3 times giving you 270 days

Gives me more time to try and get used to the mobile phone interface

re: [MERGED] Windows 8 discussion
search my computer for cmd. Normal elevation or UAC off is not enough. Run CMD as administrator type slmgr /dli to check status and type slmgr /rearm to rearm it . Wait till last day to run rearm to get full 270. Tested on a VM

Windows 8 Classic Start Menu
I have been searching for this type of thing ever since I heard that Windows 8 would not have a Start Button and it looks like it has been achieved.
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/08..._start_button/
If anyone is running Windows 8 and fancy trying it, could you do so and report back on how it is and if it works for you.
This may mean I will upgrade to Windows 8 if this works.

Excellent I will be trying Windows 8 at the weekend then, unless I get time tonight to unraid my ssd's and load win 8 on 1 and win 7 on the other.

Re: [MERGED] Windows 8 discussion
Not keen on the metro interface at all. It's certainly no good for me and my media Centre PC.
Classic shell installed and metro bypassed

Re: [MERGED] Windows 8 discussion
Dumped it. I liked the layout and the apps were quite handy but too many things I use often are not compatible with it.
Once all the bugs are ironed out I'll probably go for it though.

Re: [MERGED] Windows 8 discussion
did you try compat mode with anything? All I have really been interested in myself is the OS and how to get around it for work purposes not really tried many apps.
