Last time I looked there (which is a reeaaally long time ago), someone suggested he should read a book by Naom Chomsky. My feeling was they don't like him much there either.

Nah, I just want a alternative internet name for times when I dont want to be 'Damien'. Basically a impersonal, internet ID, i will also set up an email account in that name and so on.

I will keep Damien for CF and stuff

If you want an impersonal name surely you don't need us for that.I mean you can be Smith,Jones,Brown,Black or Red for impersonal use.

Otherwise why not be Daisy Thunderguts or SpongeBob Squarepants?

Damien, tell me if you think that this is totally stooooopid but:

I guess the whole idea behind an impersonal internet persona / name is that it should have the following qualities:

1. The name should be distinct enough from everybody elses that it is instantly recognisable.
2. There should be an element of mystery (that whole, "how did you come up with your name?" thing.
3. It should still be something personal to you.

So, here is what I propose....a simple, elegant name which is personal to you whilst still being distinct enough that people will remember that they have seen it before. You should be able to maintain a certain amount of mystery over how you got the name, although it's related to your real name it shouldn't be too obvious as your real name isn't that common.

So, your new name?
