Which one? You could mean the one that was played during the Industral Revolution part? That's one is called 'And I Will Kiss'. The whistling kicks in here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hM0fi...ailpage#t=481s

I really like the singing. I think it suits the occasion and the music really well and the lyrics are suitable without being cheesy or obvious.

And the light drive out our fears, And the joy drive out our pain
And the nations come to greet us, waving open arms of waves of golden corn
Ever hear us, Oh the spirit of the world
May your light be ever near us,Always lead us from the dark

Thanks Damien. that's the one. it's not the same without the actual video it went with.
Probably has to be the best production ever. apart from Paul McCartney spoiling it all at the end.

he just didn't fit in with the whole thing at all. he really annoyed me, and still does.

I just noticed that in the Bond video the children getting the tour of the Palace were Brazilian! A nice nod to the future hosts.

me and a lot of people don't think it's waste and you have to remember that the city bids not the country so if your city didn't bid and try to get some goodies then you need to look at the people running your city, and you think that regenerating a run down area in London is waste of money is beyond me just about every major city in the UK has had billions of government money spent on regeneration projects ,are you against them as well

It would never have been given to another part of the country and the part of London its in was one if the poorest most run down in the country

Re: The London 2012 Olympics: Current affairs discussion

Well I don't know!!

Facilities for the LONDON Olympics primarily being centred on LONDON FGS - who'd have thought??
Too many channels showing Olympic events?... (Oh really?)
More people watching at home than at the various events?... (surely not!)
Touts making money out of empty seats reserved for the Olympic family, media etc... (yeah right)

Well there's now't as queer as folk or so they say and one or two folks around here prove that point very nicely...

Actually, wrong. CDs are not compressed. They are essentially WAV files recorded at about 1,400K a second. So yes, MP3s (even at 320k) are considerably lower quality. Although, most pop music does not have the dynamic range to really show up the difference (classical music does), and even if it did, most people would have trouble hearing it.

Because, of course, London doesn't contain some of the most deprived areas in England. Areas that would benefit from the regeneration and improvement in facilities bought by the Olympics (and indeed, are).

can I respectfully remind members and certain admins that the topic here is not technology to do with codec bandwidth or Americanisms about mobile communications.

So back on topic please before I spank the lot of you!!!

Course it doesn't Stuart and Newham certainly isn't one of them, its splendid streets have long been paved with gold....

(mind you, you are arguing 'facts'* with the guy who claimed the Germans were doing very nicely without major financial institutions... )

Re: The London 2012 Olympics: Current affairs discussion

Was fortunate enough to get entrusted with the Spain squad on Sunday Night.

What a miserable bunch though De Gea, Mata and Iker Munian seemed by far the grumpiest out of the bunch. Munian seems to be massively up his own arse too.

Just been to the Canoe Slalom! France won the Gold. I got to walk from my house and it was in a part of the lee valley park I used to know quite well. Awesome.

At what point can we comment that it actually seems to all be going quite well without jinxing it?
