Tim, have you got a customised tone for your texts on your phone or a standard one?

Yes I've changed it to a customised one that sounds nothing like any other tones. But it only goes off for a couple of seconds at the most. I need it to go off for about 20 seconds if possible.

Re: The iPhone thread
I've got a few songs I use as ringtones and each of them are set at 30 seconds in duration. I just went in to my 4S and set one of them as my text tone and it plays for the full 30 seconds. Does that not happen with yours?

I'll try that Russ.
How do I save a song as an alert tone?

Re: The iPhone thread
Home>>settings>>sounds>>text tone>> scroll down to the song in your customised alerts that you want to use, tap on it then back to Home.

I think I misunderstood when you asked if I had customised alerts. I thought you just meant changing the alert for a particular number.
I can't find out how to add songs to the list.

Re: The iPhone thread
Installed iOS 6 Beta 3 last night.
Seems a little snappier than beta 2. Still got the memory leak though.
However, rather worryingly, at some point last night, the glass on the front of my iphone cracked. Hopefully the two aren't linked.

Re: The iPhone thread
Anyone else tried the new Facebook app? The Zuck announced it on his page earlier today. It's been written in Objective-C and I can really notice a difference in speed, a lot more snappier.

Yeah I noticed that. On WiFi at least, it did nearly everything instantly..

Re: The iPhone thread
It does seem better, now it's a proper app and not just a crappy front-end for the crappy mobile site.
But...
- It still does not let you mention people in your posts.
- It still does not let you share photos posted by other people.

Re: The iPhone thread
Looks almost certain it'll be announced next week on the 12th.
Have to say I'm a little underwhelmed so far with what seems to be a slight lengthening of the screen, if it's not a jump forward I might be jumping ship to a Galaxy 3.
