Re: The iPhone thread
Another reason NOT to buy Apple,
The new iPad3's 4G only works in the US/Canada
The Aussies ain't happy.

Re: The Apple iPad Thread
I've moved your post from the iPhone thread to the iPad thread
---------- Post added at 21:41 ---------- Previous post was at 21:38 ----------
But, yes. All this 4G stuff is nonsense. It also won't work with the UK's current limited attempts at 4G (wrong band AFAIK).
I blame Apple *and* the networks. Apple for not being clearer, and the networks for their own marketing BS, varying standards and inability to stick to one single true 4G system.

Re: The Apple iPad Thread
Cheerrs Matt,
Is there a problem with the search function, I searched for iPad and it didn't appear?

Re: The Apple iPad Thread
Doesn't seem to be for me. I've just tried searching for "iPad", and this thread was the first result for both "Search entire posts" and "Search titles only".

Re: The Apple iPad Thread
Its not Apples fault their advertising is misleading, the whole misuse of the phrase "4g" is wrong.

Re: The Apple iPad Thread
Does anyone know whether we'll get a UK version of The Daily , the US version is brilliant and it looks incredible on the new iPad.

Re: The Apple iPad Thread
Re. the 4G nonsense:
The Apple UK website now makes it quite clear that it's not "4G" in the UK, and instead makes more of a point about the "ultra-fast wireless" provided by support for HSPA, HSPA+ and DC-HSDPA.
Although the "4G" model is still named as such, it has a disclaimer stating that 4G LTE is only available with certain networks in the US and Canada.

Re: The Apple iPad Thread
Compared to Safari it seems like a step backwards to me. Without the bookmark bar/tabs I don't see the point of it.

Re: The Apple iPad Thread
It has tabs and bookmarks.
I hate mobile Safari. I currently use iCab Mobile, and used to use Atomic before that. I may well switch to this, though, as I can then sync it with desktop Chrome...

Re: The Apple iPad Thread
I've heard rumours that the new iPhone 5 connector will be 19 pin and thus incompatible with all earlier 31 pin devices.

Re: The Apple iPad Thread
Incompatible, but Apple are likely to produce an adaptor. A lot of their users have bought accessories (such as speaker docks and video cables) and Apple won't want to take the risk that those users will be angered enough by the change in connector (which would render their accessories useless) that they may go to Android or another competing system.
