When does soon become ages? 2 months? 6 months? Some of the channels that VM are reportedly in discussions for have been coming soon now for years. I would much rather it for someone to report on here or on VM's own support forums that 'Yes, we have been in discussions to get XYZ, but it aint going to happen, not in this financial year anyway, maybe in the future when other contracts are up for renewal with X-TV we will try again to add this channel to our line-up but untill then it won't be coming to Virgin Media anytime soon, Thank You'.
A boss of another cable company seems to be comfatable putting out those kind of statements.

I have long said for a communications company VM are very poor at er..........communication !
As you have said the other cable company boss seems comfortable putting out statements to his customers ie a couple of months ago he communicated he could not negotiate for the ITV HD channels.
It was hotly debated on here about two years ago VM were trying to get History HD but seemed to bite the dust, then fairly recently Al Jazeera but as you have said they never seem to have proper conversations with us ie the people who pay the wages ultimately.

On their communication yes it certainly is poor Richard and in my experience it has probably got even worse in the last couple of years.

But, as I have said many times before, if they communicate something and it doesn't happen they get blasted for it. So they don't communicate... and get blasted for it.
So why bother?

But is it wise to let the competition know your plans? He probably doesn't need to worry about spoiler campaigns, but unfortunately VM do.

Its alright having plans but the problem with Virgin's plans is they seem to go at a snails pace and in that time competitors have already gone round the block several times over.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2012) Vol. 2.
4Seven to let viewers pick two hours of broadcasting per day.
Guardian has reported today more info on 4Seven but still no channel number for it on Virgin Media - I think Virgin will give it channel 143.
From July 4th?
141. Channel 4 HD
142. Channel 4 +1
143. 4 Seven

Indeed, Virgin could hardly be described as prolific or quick off the mark when it comes to launching HD or channels that appear on Sky or freeview
