Boxnation HD looks like it'll be coming soon.

Posted by Boxnation earlier today on their Facebook page:

"We're hoping for HD some time this year, hopefully sooner rather than later. We film our programmes in HD currently, so we're not too far away."

They've also openly acknowledged that they need to go to HD to take the channel to the next level. I'm sure if and when Boxnation HD launches, it'll be on both SKY and Virgin from launch.

I don't believe the DS poster is correct though about his idea that it may just be a change of genre, as this would not free up a SD EPG slot.

I guess it is coming off VM as there wouldn't be enough viewers without the satellite viewers.

Is it FTA on Sky? If so, is it on Freesat?

If it is a pay channel, I suppose they won't stay on VM for similar reasons to Current TV.

I think you could well be right. To answer my own question, i've since been told that PSB is pay on Sky and, therefore, not on Freesat.

I do doubt it's long term future though, it's ratings are low and, so soon after launch, they are willing to move further down the EPG in return for money.

I rather doubtful if VM will get Boxnation HD any time soon

London Marathon staying on BBC through to 2018.

The BBC and the London Marathon have announced a deal that will see the annual showpiece event remain on the BBC through to 2018.

Under the new agreement, the BBC will continue as the exclusive UK broadcaster of the London Marathon on TV, radio, the internet, mobile and BBC iPlayer.

The marathon has aired on the BBC since it started on 1981, and despite recently losing other sporting events, the corporation has ensured that it retains the rights to the sporting celebration.

The deal also comes ahead of live coverage of the 2012 Virgin London Marathon, which starts at 8.30am on April 22 on BBC television, Radio 5 Live and online.

BBC director sport Barbara Slater, who has had to cope with a 15% cut in the corporation's budget for sports rights under an efficiency drive, said that the marathon is a "key part of BBC Sport's calendar".

A new cable exclusive channel for dogs called "Dog TV" is to become available on VOD.

I am assuming that this will be on VM, as, AFAIK, they are the only UK cable company with VOD.
