3d delight

Today I am a very happy VM customer. Why?, because after five months of frustration I am again able to watch On Demand 3D content through my non-
3D receiver! After the UK5 software change to the V+box last year this was no longer possible and having bought a 3D tv only shortly before this happened I was not happy at only being able to watch VOD 3D through the tv. So thank you VM for putting things right again which has saved me from having to invest in a 3D enabled receiver.

Re: 3d delight

V+ box is a 3d receiver. It was you TV thaty was stopping you from watching 3D media (although there isnt much on VM to watch)

Re: 3d delight

No it was not the tv. When I first bought the set I was able to watch VOD
3D content through my receiver. It was only after the UK5 software change to the box that this was no longer possible.

Re: 3d delight

It was the TV, the update to the V+ enabled a signal sent through the HDMI to check for 3D compatible TVs and for whatever reason some makes and models of TV reported the information incorrectly so the STB wouldn't display the 3D.

I believe VM has disabled this signal again as it would be easier than getting everyone with the effected TVs to get a firmware upgrade from the manaufacturers.

Re: 3d delight

In SILVER SURFER's case it really was his amp that doesn't support 3D signalling even though his TV does. Check out his old posts.

Glad it's fixed though

Re: 3d delight

Thanks spiderplant for confirming that I know what I am talking about. Also thanks for your initial help and suggestions. Have you any idea why the VOD 3D choice has been reduced. Surely if VM is serious about 3D it should be increasing the content.

I noticed the 3D content began dwindling on new years day and last week they took the ESPN 3D content off.

Really annoying that they have not replaced any of it

Re: 3d delight

Try YouTube via the Tivo. You can search for '3D SBS' and watch 3D content that way.
