Yes but i'm sure those broadcasters have to pay some kind of fee to Virgin Media and if Chello Zone think there is not enough demand for the price Virgin Media is offering, then I think they refuse to carry that channel, i'm not entirely sure if that's how the free channels work on Cable but i've heard that rumour quite a lot.
Sometimes it can be the broadcasters themselves that are being unreasonable or under contract with Sky to offer such a channel exclusively to Sky.
Sky are being unreasonable with Sky Atlantic as they have been offering that channel on there lower packages to customers but want a high amount for it on Virgin Media.
For Virgin Media to introduce an XXL TV package or have certain channels as premium channels for the sake of carriage cost disputes is no good as it shows poor value for money and is giving in to the broadcasters, do you really want Virgin Media to increase the prices of the TV service?

It's FTA on satellite meaning anyone with a satellite dish/receiver can watch it.

They are using it as a USP in much the same way VM do their BB network.

Re: CBS Drama will it be shown on Virgin Media
Broadcasters are under estimating the benefits of Virgin Media's TV platform, just under 4 million TV customers short of viewing there channels and that means lost advertising revenue. Broadcasters also have the ability to supply Virgin Media with TV on demand content.
With the loss of the Sky basic channels, Sky knew it had to do something as it was losing money, a USP lost them money. It is the same with Sky Anytime, the more features and content from Sky Virgin TV has, the more people that will be interested in taking up Sky's premium channels.
Sky Movies Collection looks more attractive at £19.50 per month rather than nearly £22, the cheaper it gets, the more subscribers it gets and the more money Sky can make.
It's simple, some people don't want Sky and want Virgin TV, that way they still manage to make money from the people who won't or can't join.

I think some of the replies are deviating from the original post, just my opinion. if Virgin has got some CBS Channels already on free to view why are they holding out on putting on CBS Drama

Don't the BBC pay Sky to transmit their channels even though they are also FTA? If the channel was on VM, then it would attract more viewers and therefore more ad money for the channel owners.

I've already answered that in the previous post, they probably think the audience is not wide enough for the price Virgin Media wants

That is mad! So if the BBC refuse to pay, Sky would lose BBC channels and not being funny or anything, but everyone watches BBC channels and most people pay there TV licence, therefore, who would subscribe to Sky when they are paying a licence fee for channels they don't even have access to!

Virgin can do nothing about unreasonable broadcasters like Sky, launch a XXL TV Pack (with Sky Movies and Sports SD and HD, BoxNation, Both Premier Sports Channels, Asia Mela, Sky Atlantic SD and HD, Sky News HD, Al Jezzera and Sky Sports 3/4/F1/News HD and others) so that we can still get the channels (for people who want them), even if it will cost quite a lot!
If you think that the broadcasters are acting reasonalble, they you might as well contact them directly!

Re: CBS Drama will it be shown on Virgin Media
Some of those are foreign language and community channels,so don't know if it is up your street Alan haha But off a mixed background and the multicultural area London is i'm sure it will serve a wide audience here.
By the way some of the channels above used to broadcast on Virgin Media in the NTL areas like Bubble Hits,Flava and Dance Nation TV. DW-TV,Travel Channel and Fashion TV used to broadcast on Virgin Media in the Telewest areas.
Hellenic TV used to broadcast on Virgin Media Analogue in the Telewest(Cable London) North London area(Camden,Harringey,Enfield,Hackney and Islington) to serve the Greek community and it is not available on Sky and many people are complaining about its availability.
JSTV is only available on Virgin Media Analogue in the Milton Keynes area, which to me makes sense when the Japanese population is next to nothing haha

Re: CBS Drama will it be shown on Virgin Media
I think the first to come will be the ITV HD channels, followed by Sky Atlantic towards the end of the year
