Lightbulb Old V+Box HD (8300DVB) - can we do anything with it?

Hey,

I have an old SA 8300DVB box in my possession (with card), but have now moved to a non-cabled area. Is there anything we can do with the box? It is made by SA, so is there a way to flash a generic firmware onto it so it boots without a cable connection, and maybe make it into a Freeview DVR or something?

Also have an old Samsung STB (silver one, first ones branded with VM rather than NTL I think) - again, can I do anything with it?

Cheers

Su

Unless you bought them outright don't they belong to VM and should be returned

Otherwise the only use to as a door stop

Cool, well they're more than welcome to come over and collect their property, either from my house, or if none of you fine gentlemen can help out, from the landfill site

Anyone played with these boxes then?

Cheers,

Su

Bear in mind that this forum is not part of Virgin Media, so just reporting here won't get them to pick it up. You can phone the number Spiderplant gave.
