Are Virgin Media Broadband users also able to use the Dial Up internet service?

Hi, I'm a Virgin Media Broadband user and was wondering if I'm also able to use Virgin Media's (0800 number) Dial Up internet service? Does anyone know if it's possible + what the number is and if the login details are the same as I use to log into the Virgin Media website?

I've tried looking for answers on Virgin Media's website without any success.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, thanks for those links. I've just tried using that 0844 number but don't seem to be able to connect using my usual virgin media id and password. So it looks like it probably isn't possible for broadband users.

Pretty sure broadband and dial-up accounts are separate. If you move from dial-up to broadband the dial-up account linked to your phone number is removed.

Re: Are Virgin Media Broadband users also able to use the Dial Up internet service?

I think the dialup service is a chargable extra you need to subscribe to seperately. Which is a shame, because my friend in the US gets 30mbit fiber to the home, and a seperate dialup account free of charge, in case the broadband should ever fail, and if the failure lasts more than 3 days, she gets free credit on her USB internet dongle gizmo, so she has some form of broadband till its fixed.

All that for just $35.00 a month.

I feel that I need to point out in fairness, that she has to have all her services with them, in order to qualify. Thats TV, Landline and Mobile. Her final monthly bill is over $100.

It used to be a free backup service for all customers with BBI but was discontinued. No one used it.

The are plenty of free dialup services available and you only pay for the time you are online http://www.bing.com/search?q=free+di...ox&Form=IE8SRC

Some people still want it so giving them an option if required, I would just use my smart phone if no connection at home though as it is paid for as part of my package.

Re: Are Virgin Media Broadband users also able to use the Dial Up internet service?

I found out that the freephone number for VM dial up is 0800 519 0100, but again I've had no luck connecting to it with my broadband account login.
