As it happens, the lack of front panel display is my number one complaint about the TiVo too. But I have different priorities.

No problem, the lack of display panel doesn`t bother me - but I can use the remote in the semi dark the boss keeps hitting the wrong buttons ! Hey how about a remote with back light

The "TiVo Slide" remote has a backlight I believe, it's not yet fully compatible, but VM intend to introduce it at some stage. Other poster say the US one works, but some buttons are not compatible.

Has anyone tried using a wish list for a specific series?
I might try this when I get home tonight, I would imagine Top Gear would be a good one to test and put series 6 or something as a keyword
Worth a try I guess

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
I think wakingthedead may be speaking about recording a specific season (in US parlance).

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Can someone explain to me why I had an option box come up on TiVo asking me to change tuner or delete the planned upcoming recording

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
My father has just had a TIVO annoyance , last night I recorded a show on my Sky+ box which he set a series link for from his mobile phone it was on BBC2, when he's watched the first part of 2 it's missed the last 3-4 minutes.

Yes the BBC and ITV are notorious for their TV schedules on some of their channels not running to time.

The second part is on BBC2 tonight so he's extended the padding further to avoid the same thing happening.

Yes that should stop it from missing those last few minutes but one question is how many minutes have you extended the padding as some channels can run 10 minutes late.

It's asking your permission to wipe a buffer for a planned recording. If you were not watching tv, then it would do that automatically.
