Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011) Vol. III.
Although Argos TV might be quite useful to some (I've never seen it and so can't comment on the format) but in the current economic climate do we really need more shopping, auction and gambling channels and websites?
How many channels have multiple adverts for Bingo websites and have late night gambling programmes?
If you make it too easy for people to over extend on credit cards, they will. Where is the nanny state to protect us? Thankfully not in Manchester building a ginormous casino anyway. Three cheers for the House of Lords for stopping that!
Apparently, this year, the John Lewis Partnership department stores have exceeded their previous record for sales and bizarrely it was last year that was their previous best!
Buy now, default later.
More entertainment on TV and less armchair spending please.
Heads over to Amazon to check on his order status.

Indeed, but there's still no slate. Maybe it will appear in the early hours of Wednesday morning

Yes generally a slate would appear by now for new channels that are about to launch.

Sky Atlantic HD. Not because I'm desperate for that channel, necessarily, but we already have the others in SD so it would mean extra content. I like to have channels in HD, but its only really sport where I find it that important.

Important in both movies and sport for me.
I don't really like watching SD now.

It has got to the stage where I don't like to watch sport in SD anymore, but when it comes to films and shows then, personally, if the plot and execution are good enough the picture quality really doesn't bother me too much.
Don't get me wrong, if I have the option I'll watch something on the HD version of the channel showing it, but it isn't the be all and end all, to me. I understand its more important to some, but for me, content is king and I'd take a new channel not previously on the platform over the HD version of a channel we already receive any day of the week.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011) Vol. III.
As there hasn't been much 'Coming Soon to Virgin TV ...' recently, I think it is preferable to have new content rather than HD versions of existing channels. I realise that the HD-ready users would like to be making the most of their equipment and enjoying better picture and sound quality but completely new channels would benefit more of us. Depending on what channels we may get, two distinct SD channels is likely to be better than an SD and a HD version of one channel.
