V+ nightly updates
I am continually being frustrated when I use my V+ box at midnight and for the following 20 minutes or so, because this is the time that Virgin see fit to carry out the daily updates (I assume that is what is happening).
During this period it is impossible to do anything other than just view a program or recording. Should I want to rewind or fast forward, the box has a mind of its own, not enabling you to stop the rewind/fast forward until it decides to. By that time the point you are trying to reach is well past.
Why has Virgin chosen this particular time to carry out the updates, a time when a lot of people will still be up watching their TV, as opposed to a later time when the system will be used less?
If I decide to change to a TIVO box, will the same situation exist or are things different with that box?
