I lent my son one of my boxes for his new house while he had an arial fitted. The house had a live vm feed.
Will vm be able to trace I lent him the box?
Can I reset the box to wipe any trace of him using it in another house?
Cheers
Ash
You can't use a box from one house/account in another... some channels will work but very few, plus you'll get a "smartcard problem" message each time you change channel. Each box is locked to one account and cannot be reused elsewhere, even if you ring up and try to get it registered you'll be told you need a new box.

Sorry about this.
My son used it for a while with no problems . His new house had a cable feed that was live from the last owner. He has never had a vm account.
The box is now back at home.

I presume from the lack of response to my original question above, vm cannot trace the fact I used my additional box at my sons new house for a while and I don,t need to reset the box of its history.
Thanks
Ash
This is the reason Sky insist their multiroom STB's are connected to your landline so they can check periodically , ensuring people aren't giving their 10.25 multiroom box to friends or family.
