Re: New rollout timetable.

Very impressed, Wired I get 97.5 down and 9.6 up, wireless with 5Ghz I get 96 down 9 up but my stupid phone doesn't see 5Ghz so I have to set it as 2.4Ghz and then my wireless drops to around 65 down and 9 up. This has just persuaded me to save up and to get a Apple Airport Extreme, at least that offers dual channels.

Overall very impressed with 100meg though!

We have just had the 100mb installed (that reminds me, the Spotify deal hasn't shown in my account) and am also very pleased with it. The Superhub is actually pretty good although I suffer the same problem with the 5ghz spectrum. We have a wireless printer which is only G rated.

The thing you could do is setup up a guest network (which uses 2.4ghz) and connect your phone onto that and have the main one at 5ghz for all your other equipment. The only downside to that is if you want to access stuff on your network as this way you won't be able to. This is why I haven't done it for our printer. Might be a way though?

Also, Crawley is still showing Dec '11 yet we already have it installed. Guess it isn't 100% accurate.

You can't do that. The SuperHub is dual band but it's not concurrent. It's either 2.4GHz or 5GHz

Which is why I want to keep my WNDR3700 in the loop when I upgrade. This router is genuinely dual band and you can have a guest network alongside that.

Second week of November and still no upgrade in Coventry. I have checked with friends in other parts of Coventry and their post codes reveal no upgrades either.

Re: New rollout timetable.

So if you set up the guest network does that mean you have to use the main network in 2.4ghz mode or does the guest network use the same spectrum as the main network?

Is this a hardware limitation of the device or a firmware limitation?

Re: New rollout timetable.

It is a shame, ordered my Apple Airport Extreme last night, seems a good router and offers dual band.

Oooh, I'll be on the phone at lunchtime to order this!

EDIT:
Install date arranged for December 15th.

Gawd, I can remember paying about £50 a month for Blueyonder 0.5Mb, now it's £35 for 100Mb!

I would double check your address using the postcode checker before calling up. I checked on the postcode checker and it said it was available but the agent said it wasn't. It took a couple of attempts to get it ordered. Also, prepare for a lengthy wait for it to be installed unless you are lucky enough to have the Superhub in which case they may be able to do it on the phone for you there and then.

The Scottish lass I spoke to handled it very nicely. As you said, she spent most of the time looking for an install date (December 15th as I don't have a superhub).

I need someone out to check my power levels (I thought they could do that remotely?) but I have a good 50Mb service in the meantime.
