TRIM doubt.

Hi Guys,

I've just ordered my first SSD and I would like to know if there's any way to tell for sure if it supports TRIM? It is enabled in my Windows 7.

It's a Crucial CT064M4Solid State Drive2 64GB M4 Solid State Drive.

I've been on the manufacturers website and buried deep in the FAQS, someone asked this and was told yes, but I'm a relentless doubter.

Ta.

Re: TRIM doubt.

done a bit of googling. updating the firmware pops up and 7 TRIM checker;

Quote:
Command Prompt (Administrator) enter: fsutil behavior query disabledeletenotify

you'll get either one of these telling you whether its enabled or disabled

DisableDeleteNotify = 1 (Windows TRIM commands are disabled)
DisableDeleteNotify = 0 (Windows TRIM commands are enabled)

Yeah I did this to find out if TRIM was enabled, but does this mean that my SSD supports TRIM? Would it automatically disable if the SSD didn't support it?

Anywho, I installed the SSD and I have to say WOW, I don't have a high-end lappy but the speed increase is amazing on my SATA system. Gawd only knows how nippy it would be with SATA II or III. It's booted up and ready to go before the little floaty windows logo is finished.
I would definitely recommend splashing out on one of these drives to really put some life into a flagging machine.
Oh and Waldo? Thanks for the links poppet, something I shall have a dicker around with at the weekend.

Later taters.

Re: TRIM doubt.

I have the Agility 3 and its pretty fast when doing things....online games load a hell of a lot quicker World of Tanks for example I'm loaded before most players are and usually having to hang around till they all load up
