Well do what someone else suggested: keep your sky box to view it on freesat.

Re: Sky or VM for TV???

I have just had Tivo installed moving over from SkyHD

i would say the only advantage sky now have is the few missing HD channels they don't allow on virgin.

The Tivo box is streets ahead.

There is 5 sky HD channels that sky don't allow on Virgin Media . They are Sky Sports HD3 and HD4 , Sky News HD, Sky Sports News HD and Sky Atlantic HD. Not that many is it. To be honest i would not Sky News HD any way.

to make thing simple, why can't we just have more channels, then Virgin Medias Triple-play service will be perfect

In dec 2010 Virgin Media said they had path to grow to 80 HD channels in 2 years or 3 years. So at the moment they roughly have the capacity for 47-55 HD channels.

It is separate from the broadcast connectivity that we have where effectively we are providing 300 standard definition channels, 30 HD channels at the moment, but with a path to grow to 80 HD channels over the next two years, or three years.

Alan virgin media can't add every +1 channels and every minority channels that exists on Sky but we will get a lot more HD channels.

Virgin Media TV only has a certain capacity.

As many of us have explained. If Sky sold all of their channels to VM, then they would lose all their customers. It's a business decision in order to keep customers.

Otherwise, what have Sky got to keep customers paying their high prices??
