It seems to be something that is common knowledge and hence not wanting to start a new thread if it was.
You'll still need another TiVo (Multi-room) for streaming if that's what you mean?

Content Access on Any TV Today
Typically, the DVR experience is limited to one room in a consumer household. The Cisco Whole Home DVR lets consumers record their favorite TV programs once and access that content on any set-top in the home, however.

Provide the First Step in the Connected Life
Open standards and IP-enabled technologies are creating the foundation for "any-screen" experiences, promoting the Connected Life. In the Connected Life, unified video experiences are accessible when and where consumers want them and on their chosen device. Cisco Whole Home DVR is the first critical step.
Deliver Next-Generation Services
When the whole home DVR is used with other medianet solutions, content can be managed across any DVR and consumer electronic device. Cisco next-generation set-tops converge the more social, personal, and interactive Internet capabilities with traditional cable video. They can support multiple home networking standards and offer hybrid tuning options

Increase Service Differentiation and Value
The Cisco Whole Home DVR offers a new world of personalization and freedom for consumers. It provides a simple, high-value way for you to:

Improve consumer satisfaction and loyalty
Differentiate your service from competitors
Extend the Connected Life throughout the home
Begin the transformation from service provider to experience provider

Re: £3 TiVo charge

I don't understand why there's a charge at all nevermind per box when you've already paid £99(?) to have it installed! Does it cost them anymore to provide a tivo service than V+ that would warrant £3pm, if anything?

Re: £3 TiVo charge

Well this price change has forced my hand. Just ordered a 500Gb TIVO to replace the V+ in the bedroom, before the November 1st cut off date. Seems to be a lot of TIVO's flying off the shelf at the moment, the first available install was not until December 2nd! Gives plenty of time for the software update to be rolled out, and hopefully it will be all ready for multiroom streaming once it arrives!

Considering there is a seperate 10Mbit connection to each TiVo box, possibly

Re: £3 TiVo charge

I am currently on the VIP50 package with the main box being a 1TB Tivo and the extra box is a V+ box, which I have in my bedroom but it one of the first V+ boxes and is very noisy and keeps me awake at night. I phoned up just now to see if I could swap the V+ box for a 500gb Tivo but was told that I couldn't do that on the VIP package, I have to keep the V+ box but can get a 3rd box which can be another Tivo box. Can someone from Virgin confirm this is the case? I'm sure I've read somewhere on here, that other people on this forum have VIP packages but have all Tivo Boxes and not V+ boxes, or have I imagined that?! Thank you.

I have exactly the same as you at present. I rang up this morning and was charged £49.95 to replace the V+ box with a 500Gb TIVO. I'd try again if you were you! If you ring up around 8.30 in the morning you usually get through to a UK call centre which can help

OK, great thanks. The person I spoke to was called "Alan" but he didn't sound like he was from a UK call centre! I'll try again tomorrow morning!

Yes I can confirm that Multi Room Streaming is in the V15.2 update. I had a short play with it but didn't get very far in the menues, since it correctly stated it couldn't detect a second TiVo!

Thats not why the £3 charge is there though is it, its because Virginmedia have to pay "TiVo" to keep the epg up to date and licence the software/brand.

I phoned up earlier this morning and spoke to someone in the UK Call centre. Was again told that on my package I couldn't swap my V+ for the 500gb Tivo, but could move the V+ to another room and have the 500gb Tivo put in my bedroom and only pay a £49.95 activation fee and no increase in my monthly premium! Don't know how that works as thought I would have to pay a £6.50 multi-room subscription to have a 3rd box, so i'm not complaining.
