Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
As I said before.I don`t care how the bill is broken down ! getting more for less is great. Tivo and a v+ for £9 less per month & no upfront charges is great as far as I am concerned. Not worried about BB speed or what part of the the phone bill is free calls ( have a spend of £1 to £2 on calls per month !)

So, does it now use 1 tuner to record back-to-back programmes on the same channel?
|
I have just recorded two random programmes which were back-to-back. Both programmes had no padding at the start and five minutes at the end.
Both had the extra five minutes included in their recorded duration. So I guess the answer is that the new software still uses two tuners in this situation.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Is 1080p still in the video settings ? or has it been removed in the Tivo Update ?
My TV supports 1080p 24hz Would i be able to display 1080p on Tivo on my TV ? Would it make any difference to the picture quality if it worked ?

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Your TV needs to support 1080p25, IIRC. Also, I don't think it matters as there's no 1080p content for it to display anyway so HD programming would still be in 1080i.

However If you are getting a black screen in the test options then I would guess your TV doesn't support 1080P/24 format (which is different than 'normal' 1080P)

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
You appear to be, at best, misinterpreting what he posted, and at worst, selectively quoting what he posted, and completely ignoring what he posted earlier on that page.
He repeatedly states that nothing higher than 1080i is supported on the TiVo in the UK.

The 1080p mentioned in TiVo settings isn't used. It's a leftover thing from US TiVo. It was simply a pass through feature.
All UK HD is broadcast in 1080i
You tv does 1080p 24 which is usually the format Blu Ray movies will look best in.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
The VM TiVo supports passthrough of 1080p25. The help text does say 1080p24 in the 15.1 software, but this was a leftover from the US version. It has been corrected in the 15.2 software.
But it's irrelevant at the moment as there is no 1080p content.
