IIRC, it's an integrated "smart" messaging app.
You write your message and send it as normal. If it's going to someone else with an iOS5 device, it goes via iMessage. If not, it goes via SMS.

Well this is strange. I can actually use the phone while it's restoring the apps etc. Makes a change from waiting for "SYNC IN PROGRESS" to go away.

Re: The iPhone thread
Thanks Matt.
One thing im confused about, in message settings, when imessage is activated, where it says "receives at" it has a different number there, not my number is that right, as in, is it the message centres number or is there a problem somewhere?

So it won't play music / pod casts - it SAYS it's playing but there is no sound.
I think I'm going to do a frsh install.

I've been on iOS5 since beta one and its a feature I love. It now syncs in the background so you can still use the phone. WiFi sync is also pretty cool.

Re: The iPhone thread
Given the huge overlap in feature-set across different iOS devices, I propose we post discussion around iOS 5 and iCloud, regardless of which device(s) you use with them, in a new thread I've put up here:

Re: The iPhone thread
iPhone4s speech aide is full of cheeky answers
PERSONAL assistant built into latest Apple phone can even tell users what meaning of life is - apparently, it's chocolate.
One woman told her phone "I love you", and got the response: "You hardly know me, Margaret."
And when a smitten buyer asked: "Will you marry me?", the software responded: "My End User Licencing Agreement does not cover marriage. My apologies."
Another groupie told the phone: "You're sexy." Siri responded: "I thought so."
my favo one is Another user asked: "Why am I here?". The system replied: "I don't know. Frankly, I''ve wondered that myself."

Re: The iPhone thread
Right, I've got an iphone running on 4.35 Jailbroken untethered.
it's got the old boot loader 3.5.2
to 'jailbreak' using Sn0wbreeze 2.8b8 on the IOS5, do I have to update to IOS5 through itunes first?
I've read the guide how to do it, and downloaded the 'restoreOS5.psw' which is 668MB. but not sure whether the phone has to already have IOS5 on it, or it does it with the downloaded one I have.
