Great Recession is deepest since the Depression

Britain suffered a deeper recession than previously thought and is recovering even more slowly than had been believed, official figures show and l have been lucky as with our joint finances we have not been that affected apart from a slight rise in our fuel costs and food costs but others l know have not been so lucky.

Re: Great Recession is deepest since the Depression

Tax rises, higher cost housing, higher costs of living generally - not nice.

Probably be wise to focus less on GDP and more on preservation of quality of life and living standards now.

Re: Great Recession is deepest since the Depression

Is there anyone (or any sector) who hasn't been affected by the credit crunch or recession? Even MPs have to be careful with their dodgy paperwork...erm I mean expenses.

I remember about 6 months before the election, a woman I know who had a fairly high-up position in the council was in our council talking about how all she hears is "doom and gloom" and couldn't understand it as her finances or work budget "hadn't been affected at all". This of course was before the government's cuts.

So are there any sectors yet to be affected?
