My downloads are also pathetic, but the pings appear to tell a more interesting story. I have an engineer coming out on Thursday. The help desk was uninterested in my trace routes, pretty much talked down to me as if I didn't understand how they worked, and denied there was any issues with my connection until they noticed I was unable to get over 10Mb on their speedtest. I'm on 100Mb because I wanted to avoid STM, but it appears there has been an change of policy, and now my connection is worthless. How long does this problem have to occur before I can use it as a reason to get out of my contract?

Proxy seems to fix everything, since it's something local that seems to be throttling everything that isn't going to the proxy.

OVH on the other hand, or at least their speedtest servers, are utter rubbish. Their supposed gigabit speedtest host barely hits 120, and it's no better even from an internal OVH server. Namesco, and the other Roubaix speedtest server (Mrcio Oliveira) have no trouble hitting 500mbps+

Re: Edinburgh Connection Issues

Have a friend who's just had a tech out to check if the problem lies with his street and I'll quote what he quoted the tech as saying.

"There is a national problem with bandwidth that needs fixed."

Re: Edinburgh Connection Issues

By "national" he means restricted to a single headend.

Re: Edinburgh Connection Issues

JB66

is this main reason we are having issues in Falkirk?

I'm record chronic slow speeds, not even 1meg
