Can anyone shed any light on this very reasonable question?

FYI those channels you are refering too. Where on that page does it mention them coming soon, or even being in HD. The channel logos for those channels are just for the SD versions. If you look that Sky One and Sky Living they all have HD at the end.
Its purely a banner at the bottom of a web page illustrating some channels VM have and nothing more.

Shame WE can't moderate silly posts too!
If YOU look where this page is, it's specifically and directly after you click on HD TV and with a BIG HD TV picture by a load of channel names of which we HAVE in HD.
It's not hard to work out the possible link between then is it????

Yes it may be on a page about HD channels but it doesn't mean that the pic they used is confirming those channels coming to VM especially if they are using the SD channel logos!

Re: cartoon network hd , disney hd, nickelodeon hd ?
The fact they are using SD logos is irrelevent because we know we HAVE those channels in HD! That's the point!
It's speculation about possible channels coming soon to VM and maybe some evidence to back that up... shame we had to clutter the board with a seperate thread really!

Re: cartoon network hd , disney hd, nickelodeon hd ?
Its not irrelevant, they have simplay made a banner pic for the page and it shows some HD channels and also some non HD channels. It does not in anyway indicate that those SD channels are on their way to VM in HD. Its just to show an example of some channels. It does not make it gospel that those channels will the coming to VM in HD.
Until VM actually announce new HD or SD channels it is just pure speculation.

Re: cartoon network hd , disney hd, nickelodeon hd ?
It also shows MTV who don't have a HD simulcast (N/Live is a different channel) so however deceiving the image may be, its just another banner that has had various logos plonked on it incorrectly.

Sorry Stephen I dont buy that argument,if it is purely a banner illustrating some channels then dont you find it to much of a coincidence that all the channels listed do carry a SD and HD version, why not simply put a mixture of dedicated SD and HD channels?,I think VM new excactly what they were printing.

Re: cartoon network hd , disney hd, nickelodeon hd ?
and if they didnt it is easy to see why a potential customer or a current customer may be misled either on purpose or by mistake that Virgin has or will have those channels in hd
