Sorted out a problem on the main PC - it wouldn't boot up this morning (the fans would come on for a second, then everything would stop, then fans would come on again for a second, repeat ad nauseum).
Did some browsing to fault find, and most googles seemed to think it was a mobo or power problem, so I tried the power problem options (unplugged various bits inside the PC to reduce consumption to see if it would start), but nada.

Kept searching the web, and found a link that said it might be the CMOS battery - took it out, put it back in, and hey presto, everything back up again.

As an additional benefit, I removed 3 years and 8 months of dust from the inside of the computer....

I'm currently rabbit sitting for my sister (whose in Portugal), last night as I was locking up the key broke in the lock
I was luckily still able to open the door by using the bit on the keyring in the lock, but nothing else could.

So I had to get a locksmith, looking in the local Thompson Directory a guy in my street is one.

So tonight he came round and managed to get the boken bit out almost as quick as it went in .

He also only charged me £30 instead of £40 as I was a neighbour .

To tell the truth I would have paid £40. Now I know the house is again 100% secure I can sleep properly tonight knowing the rabbit can be fed and cuddled (Nieces orders).

It could have been worse and cost around £200.

Seriously though you were lucky to get a locksmith for £30, they usually cost an arm and a leg. Incidentally could you/your sister not claim on your household insurance policy if the charge had been £200?

Managed to get a HTC Sensation from voda as an upgrade, they offered the usual crappy blackberries and the cheaper HTCs etc as an upgrade but told them I wasn't interested, so they gave me the sensation. Managed to get 600mins, 500mb data, unlimited texts, with a free Voda sure signal booster, all for £20 a month.
