True. I keep forgetting that point, as I have choice. Alas my friend at work can't get virgin, nor can they get a dish (has to use a shared one). Scary not having a choice.
It's a lot easier to keep customers (contracted) than to get new customers.. Hence you may find the deals are possibly not profitable for the first 6 months and only open to new customers..

For Sky its 12 months. Most people rejoin within that time if they are going to as they give discounts during this period if the equipment still works.
New customers don't get tv discounts with Sky. Virgin would probably make more money if they did it this way.
