Well to be honest i have had sky hd fair enough sky hd does win where the amount of hd channels are concerned but other aspects tivo does blow it away.

Couldn't agree more , I've used a friends and there are some excellent features, it's each to their own, I think Kop32 was merely asking why Den condemns people for criticising TIVO when they don't use it , but then does the same with STB's he doesn't use Your still a legend though Den.

I personally like TIVO , I have used both the TIVO premiere in the USA and a friends VM TIVO , my main problem with leaving Sky is as follows A. VM lacks to many key HD channels B. £3.00 a month charge for a STB to me isn't worth it when BT/Sky etc offer me one with no monthly charge C. I don't see the extra features of TIVO worth forking out for. These are just my opinions and I respect everybody is different.

Because my brother who was my carer for 3 years had Sky thus l had no choice in the matter.

I agree - I LOVE the deleted folder on TiVo for those moments when you have a brain freeze and hit delete (or hubby does LOL). So I've been able to get something back which means I like having it there, but I also wish there was a 'delete all' option for when it's just full of stuff I don't want and I would feel like I had a nice empty hard drive.

I would concur that's an excellent feature , most boxes you delete by accident and have to live with it.

Well just as a final thought on this
In the early days I deleted an episode of "Physic Sally" by mistake
I was about to banished to my shed, when I remembered the "Deleted Folder"
Zero to Hero in an instant,
Ive been living off that glory for weeks now

Re: Tivo The future
The next big thing for TIVO will be the ability to watch a recording on another TV and the VM TIVO iPad app , if it's as good as the US version looks like people are in for a treat.

I absolutely cannot wait for this app! It better not disappoint when it arrives.
This will be a huge step for VM imo. Sky have excellent mobile apps and this is a massive area where I'd like to see VM closing the gap. The Sky+ iPad app really is stunning!

Yes I agree the Tivo multiroom feature can't be far away and will be an excellent addition to what Tivo already does.

Spotify(on the way)
Lovefilm
Networking ie tivo box to tivo box recordings ect

Well, let's hope that Lovefilm is going to appear very soon. I would like both subscription and pay per view options. Don't mind a cap on the number of films or box sets accessible in a month.
