Making up piles of crap about how its got millions of amazing features on the way followed by another 20 HD channels is just not true. But its what you constantly spout out. Stick to the facts and tell people an honest and straight forward truth about what they should expect from Tivo.
Which is a new smarter way of watching/recording TV with "smart features" I SMART because the new TV's are called smart TV's and tivo has many of there features.
Infact VM should find of away of using the "SMART" tv wording in there advertising. EG-Upgrade your existing TV to a smart TV

l do not need to make up anything about the tivo as the box itself does the talking as for spouting out well perhaps you should be more rational before you come out with some ill thought comments about me.

Strange - my TiVo can do this; when I press the play button, it asks "do I want to resume playing"? (and I have the option to start at the beginning if I don't).
As for a "true fast forward", have you read the manual, specifically pages 10 and 22?

You wont regret it
i have dozens reservations about Tivo but actually getting Tivo isn't one of them
it's complicated bit of kit and with that comes more room for problems - it goes with the territory
if it did make toast people would say it makes it too brown or too light so they would want another setting - yadda yadda

Unless they're going to replace every VM customer's TV with a high-end Samsung that would be against advertising standards. Smart TV is a Samsung trademark hence how Sony, LG, etc, use other branding for exactly the same functions.

You really have no idea what you're on about do you,,,,,,,,,,,,, I quote,
Smart TV Upgrader
Those without an LG Smart TV have the option of purchasing the Smart TV Upgrader box, which adds the functionality to any TV.
I Believe the VM Tivo could be considered a SMART TV upgrader. You and your idiotic mate are doing more harm to the VM and tivo on this site than anyone.
Stick to the facts give realistic info to potential Tivo customers and understand one thing..."Just because you made it up does not mean its true "
I also standby my previous statement that VM could sell TIVO as giving smart functions to your existing TV. If they don't then they're missing a trick.

Could everyone get back on topic, please, rather than name-calling.

Re: Tivo The future
So because I did not know that companies were now all calling it Smart TV (although Sony still calls it Internet TV) despite the fact I knew it was all from one platform/group/association/whateveryouwanttocallit, I'm an idiot?
TiVo apps are made for TiVo, nothing else. Smart TV apps are made for TV's and devices that use that previously mentioned platform and so are universal.
So no, TiVo is not a smart TV device, its a TiVo. TiVo is a brand in its own right and isn't just some marketing name for a universal technology.
You on the other hand are a troll who has recently said one or two 'nice' things to big up your ego while you still think that you can do what you want on this forum.

Re: Tivo The future
I would like the ability to email the Tivo a Youtube URL then just simply click on it and have it play.

Well I still think Tivo adds a great amount of functionality to an existing TV, obviously you don't. We will agree to disagree.

I didn't even say that. I said they were two different platforms. So for the third time;
Why are you here? You don't have VIRGIN TELEVISION.
