Re: Tivo The future

I'd like default padding and being able to use the TiVo slide remote.

Re: Tivo The future

A remote with a keyboard, trying to search youtube etc with a phone type keyboard is worse than trying to use a V+ box after midnight

Split screen between TV and the Apps

Re: Tivo The future

Something needs to be done about when a pin is needed. I get a lot of suggestions that are recorded in the early hours which are repeats of programmes originally shown before 0900.

Ok, the box can..

Record 3 channels
Give suggestions
Wishlists
Apps...

What else do people think this box will ever be able to do? Its a set top box, its never going to cook your dinner whilst giving you a foot massage. The next step may be to have multi box viewing of content.

But to say they havent scratched the surface leaves people with expectations that will just never be matched. Unless you mean red button services and reminders but most freeview STB's have this and Sky boxes have had it for years.

mikebonne is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Tivo The future

Before anyone starts saying that TIVO is the Future I think they should sort out the simple requirements of the system lkike being able to resume playing a programme that you recorded and paused, being able to jump to a specific place in a programme or having a true fast forward function. Compared to the HD box the simple functionality fo the TIVO box is crap!

Its not about anti VM or pro sky, Tivo is a good bit of kit. Its a bit slow and clunky at the moment but hey they will sort that through various software updates/tweaks.

But you are just getting carried away with all the this high-end latest tech super advanced nonsense. You're setting people up for disappointment.Virgins tv adverts show what Tivo does and show it well.

Making up piles of crap about how its got millions of amazing features on the way followed by another 20 HD channels is just not true. But its what you constantly spout out. Stick to the facts and tell people an honest and straight forward truth about what they should expect from Tivo.

Which is a new smarter way of watching/recording TV with "smart features" I say SMART because the new TV's are called smart TV's and tivo has many of there features.

Infact VM should find of away of using the "SMART" tv wording in there advertising. EG-Upgrade your existing TV to a smart TV
