Re: Virgin media price increase

See, I think it's the other way round. VM's phone service is the worst part of the package; and VM's TV service is good enough for me

As previously discussed, there aren't that many Sky sub channels that VM now don't have.

Yes, there are some FTA and some HD but the former don't require a Sky sub and we already have SD versions of most of the latter

Pretty sure the poster said the the two price increases this year accumulate to make it a 13% increase.
Don't see why that triggers such a hostile reaction?

But your posts seem to indicate you thought that was a Virginmedia price rise, if you do not like the VAT increase email your MP and complain to them.

Re: Virgin media price increase

Masque,

Looking at the residential tariffs (phone review) from 01st Aug 2011, it seems to suggest the Talk 08 add ons will from August only include calls to 0845 numbers. Are you able to confirm whether this is correct or a misprint?

NB - the Jun prices still show it includes 0845, 0870 and other 08 numbers.

If this is the case, Virgin's phone is becoming really expensive as for XL phone it'll be £21.90 + £2/£5 for Talk 08 (for 0845 only) compared to BT who charge £18.60 for their equivalent and include 0845/0870 calls for no additional cost.

I'm more than happy with my Virgin services and appreciate it won't cost me the above price due to my bundle discount but it doesn't make good reading that Virgin charge over £5 (22%) a month more than BT for the same product.

Cheers

Re: Virgin media price increase

One thing I have to pick up on when looking through these new prices is the Talk International. There are two columns now, Existing Customers and New Customers.

The existing customer tariff is the old one at 3.06p per minute. How come those of us on VIP50 with Tivo are being charged at the new customer rate when we have been VIP50 customers for a while. Or does us getting Tivo then class us as a new customer?

I want my original Talk International and Talk Mobile plans back!
