Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Silly Question - how do you stop playback of a recording, pressing stop just takes the screen to preview window ?

For me it took 3 or 4 forced connections and a reboot before the guide was full (ok, the reboot was to get the channel logos visible).

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
I don't know the exact reasons, however when I press stop near the end of a recording it does stop playback and will usually ask if I want to keep or delete the recording.

How do you force connect? Can't see an option because I presume it has actually connected?

Select Help & Settings on the Home screen.
Choose Settings enter your PIN.
Select Network.
Choose from the available options.
Connect to the Virgin Media TV service now
Hope this helps?

It does take a fair while for the last 1% to load for the first time?

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
I've had my TiVo installed today and I've got some questions about how it sets series links.
On my V+ Box, say if I set a series link for a program that is shown at 21:30, then it will only record the program at 21:30 however on the TiVo, it records the program whenever it is on which means I've got a lot of repeats in my planned recordings. I then changed the series link option to record only New episodes which are shown at 21:30 but the planned recordings still show repeats. Is there anyway of preventing the repeats so that TiVo only records the episodes as a series at 21:30?
Another thing about series links, I presumed with TiVo you can set a series link for anything. I tried setting a series link for a program that I know the V+ identifies as a series but TiVo only provides the option to record the program once. TiVo shows upcoming episodes of the show but it doesn't allow a series link to be set, why could this be?

If you see what I mean?

Thanks for that Carl, TiVo really is a clever little box!

Hi
Can you let me know what the examples are which you quote.
The first problem could be down to the programme not having the correct EPG data - it will normally avoid recording duplicates of the same episode.
I have not come across any instances where series links are not offered as an option. What is the programme?

Mine was like that for the first week after installation. Now the stop button works as it should. I have no idea why but that is my experience. In fact it took the full seven days before it really settled down.

You MUST allow TiVo a full seven days before it is in a position to provide all functions fully. This has been my experience. It is daft I know but that is what mine took.!
