Where do the EU get their ideas from? Why do they continue to cost us a bloody fortune. I really hate the EU and all it stands for and costs us

I have just tried to find a link to this other than the fail and you guessed it there is none. I have no faith in anything the fail prints unless it has been carried by another news provider that is not linking to the fail. I agree with the op on the EU, The sooner we are out of that pile of cow dung they call the EU the better.

The idea of the Arc Manche was dreamt up by the EU 15 years ago as part of a Europe-wide attempt by Brussels to break down national barriers. In 2005, in an effort to increase the profile of the Arc

Manche, a special assembly was created to include representatives from UK local authorities including Devon, Hampshire and Kent, and French councillors from areas such as Brittany and Normandy.

There are 12 other cross-border regions, include projects linking the west of Spain with Portugal and a number of schemes on the borders of Italy.

As usual the Mail has tried a bit of EU scaremongering and failed miserably.With just a little research the story is easily exposed for the failure it is

Working as a collaborative network, it aims to reinforce Franco-British partnerships between regions on both sides of the Channel by delivering joint actions and projects, which could be supported by European Union policies.

It is important to stress that this is an informal, voluntary network of local authorities who can use the network to share best practice, coordinate initiatives and pull together project ideas to draw in EU funding. It is not a 'regional Assembly' like the South East England Regional Assembly. It has absolutely no powers confered to it, no role in governance, law-making or public administration.

This type of story just proves to me that the mail is a failure as a source of reliable news .I am not a EU fan ,and obviously neither is the Mail ,but there are plenty of news items that if reported correctly would serve their agenda much better ,how can they not report those ? instead of reporting factually inacurate rubbish like this
