Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package

Forgive my naivety, but I thought that the VIP thing had been sorted out?

I thought the VIP package upgrade was to allow VIP users to upgrade to Tivo for no monthly fee and a discount over regular pricing and also to keep the V+ box for no additional pricing etc.

I think you're right, I don't think they'll improve VIP50 any further. VIP20 is just being run into the ground as far as I can see so people upgrade to VIP50. They may as well just do away with it.

What about those of us that haven't upgraded to TiVo?

As VIP is meant to be a collection of the best services VM offer, I would have thought VIP without Tivo wouldn't be the 'Very Impressive Package'?

Well said!!

I've heard some VIP subscribers on here commenting that they had recently received an offer relating to upgrading their VIP package to include TIVO.

I havent received any such offer, but was wondering if those who did, had previously registered their interest in TIVO (as I hadn't)?

As a rule, I generally dont show an interest in anything like this until I know how it will affect my bill.

Perhaps I should have!!

AVIP? Almost very impresive package?

What if you have no need for tvio, hd movies and sport or 50mb internet (like me). Why not just reduce the price of the old vip20/30 package by £10, I would upgrade to it (recently downgraded from vip20).

They should make vip xl tv, xl phone, xxl broadband, sky sports hd and movies hd, A choice of any 2 or 3 addional call features, tvio 1tb box and v+ box as second box with no charge for tivo services or hd activation. Also have the option to upgrade the v+ to a tivo 500mb box which would add the £3 tivo charge and maybe have a one off upgrade charge.

Yes but not everyone is willing or able to pay £149. If it is to be part of the package they should replace the box for free.

I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but if they create a new VIP package, given what VIP stands for, surely it would contain a TIVO box?

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package

So it's £149.95 to "activate" a box i'll never own plus £40 installation fees for a guy to unsrew an f-connector and unplug a power lead and hdmi lead, then do the reverse on the new box. Not to mention the "free" upgrade from 20Mb to 30Mb broadband that will actually cost £30 for the "free" superhub. There's the possibility I may move from the property i'm in at the moment so don't want to be stuck in a contract and move to a non cabled area...all in all it looks like i'm stuck with the redundant VIP 20 pack that i signed up for as the "Very Impressive Package" 3 years ago! Rant over...lol!

It's worth looking at the costs of upgrading from VIP20 to VIP50 (even without TIVO). I had VIP20 + a Sky HD premium subscription, so when I upgraded my monthly bill actually went down a couple quid - and I got free install on the 50Mb BB. There's free install on TIVO this month, so that was £149 all in, with the old V+ replacing my standard box upstairs and no increase in monthly cost.

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package

Just received my first bill for TIVo + VIP50, or whatever they are going to call it.

After numerous calls & rants to CS, they finally seem to have got it right

Taking out all the partial charges etc. The ongoing amount is £ 105.60, less an ongoing credit of £3.00 = £ 100.55 + £2.05 itemised billing

A huge thank you to Ben Mc for all your help & guidance in finally getting there.
Well done mate.

I'd like to add my thanks to Ben and the other VM people who post here too.. After having my Tivo/VIP50 upgrade the other week, I got my first bill for £103.55. A phone call to CS, explaining that I've seen VM staff (both here, and on the VM forums) state that VIP50 was £100.55 caused a bit of confusion at first, and while they couldn't find the correct code to apply to my account, they added a recurring £3 credit for the next 12 months (at which point I just call, and hope the code stuff is all sorted out).

So I'm now on VIP50, and paying less than I was on VIP20 (as I was paying extra for the Premium Sky HD channels, and would have been paying an extra £3 per month for TiVo).

Thank you!

Dean

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package

My first bill was completely messed up.

I took Tivo as an extra box and It went from £100.55 to £117.05.
The main bundle discount was reduced from £47.94 to £41.44, something which surprised me as surely it should have increased to cover the Tivo cost?

I phoned them up and after a good 20 minutes of a nice helpful lady looking over my account and trying to make head and tail of it (once I'd actually got her to see it wasn't all fine) she said a discount code of £15 a month had been missed off my account which she'd now added so I'd actually be paying £102.05, which is £5 less than I was expecting. I'm waiting for my next bill though as I'm sure something else is going to go wrong with it!
