Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Got a call today, I'm going to have my V+ moved into another room for free. Sweet.
I've just skimmed this page and I see at least one other person has got this, will look back through the thread.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
TIVO was installed on monday, everythings been fine, but today when i turned it on to ANY channel it said it was pin locked, this happened on the instal day and the VM tech says its cause all the data was still downloading.
Checked the settings and it was starting to go through the motions of downloading data, got to 99%, and it still says no title available for EVERYTHING!
Some people been posting only 24 hrs ahead on guide was available to them today.
Programme classification not known, press ok to override parental controls.
Has there been an update today, or do i have a fault?
Keeps saying preparing to connect!

[QUOTE=dazed&confused;35217863]OK - Tivo First impressions:

After the little hiccup on installation this morning I've been playing for a few hours:
Very pleased that it has gone so well for you.
I have a ONYKO receiver and I would love to be able to control it with the TiVo remote. Where did you get the code for your receiver?

On Help & Settings choose TIVo box; Using your TIVo box; Your TV remote; TV Remote settings; Programming an AV device.
Press right arrow, type in first 3 letters - ONK gives you a list of code numbers
to select.
Holding down clear & volume up at the same time wait for the remote to flash green twice. Enter the 4 digit code. Flashes green again - Press Ok
Mine worked on the first code, but if not work your way down the list.
Sounds more complicated than it Is !!!
Good luck

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Got a e-mail from virgin today inviting me to get tivo at a cost of £149.95 box activation and £40 installation fee. What a rip off and a shabby way to treat a loyal customer of several years. Needless to say I wont be taking up their offer! As good as the box sounds I honestly don`t think it`s something I must have. Others will disagree with me but I guess it`s down to choice really.

I would ring up customer service and check. I got a confirmation screen of an install for this Saturday (23rd) but no email. When I rang last night to check it was all still OK, it turned out the install was down for today!
Just had a phone call back confirming it's now next Saturday (30th) but as a bonus they will move the V+ to another room for free with no multi-room charge either for life.

Just had the same call, nice little bonus, particularly if they are going to be offering Tivo multiroom where you have a "dumb" box that can play recordings from the main one at a later date.

Try this
Search for a code to control the volume on your AV/Stereo receiver
1. Cover the end of the TiVo remote control with your hand.
2. Hold down the TiVo and MUTE buttons simultaneously until the red (or amber) light on the remote control remains on.
3. Remove your hand from the end of the TiVo remote control.
4. Enter code 1999. After you enter the code, the red (or amber)light will flash three times and then remain on.
5. Press CHANNEL UP once every two seconds. This will test hundreds of codes, one by one.
IMPORTANT: Do not go any faster than this or you may skip over a code that works.
6. If you press CHANNEL UP and the volume on your AV/Stereo receiver becomes muted, press ENTER to select the code. Press VOLUME UP and then VOLUME DOWN to test the code. If the volume changes, you have successfully programmed the remote.
If you cycle through all the codes, the red LED will go off, indicating that you have tried all the codes. If this happens, or if you selected a code but the AV/Stereo receiver does not respond to the test, try again, to make sure you did not skip over your code by going too fast.
Regards
John
