Also epg only goes as far as 24 hrs ahead so far, how long does this take to fill up? Are these two things related, and so I need to reboot or something?

PS Quite impressed with the YouTube app.

Yes it is normal as it does take a long time for the epg data to update.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Got mine installed this morning. Two engineers just turned up, no phone call beforehand.
But I'm tearing my hair out. The Tivo is connected to a Toshiba LCD tv using HDMI. When I turn the TV on, I get "No Signal" on the TV until I pull the HDMI out and put it back in.
Any ideas, because that's going to drive me and everyone else blooming mad.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
OK - Tivo First impressions:

After the little hiccup on installation this morning I've been playing for a few hours:
1. PQ looks the same as the V+ on SD & HD
2. EPG goes back forever! - first prog with a little c embloem was KOTV boxing at 2.30 am this morning (10hours before install), pressed the programme - It stated "Watch from Catch up TV on demand" pressed OK, came up with "Play" - worked perfectly.
3. Set up all my series links with no problem, EPG started about a day ahead, now a week forward.
4. Controlled the Volume & Mute first time on my AV receiver.
5. Recorded two progs so far - both perfect.
6. Changed Tuners, and rewound to the start of the buffering on first tuner.
So far so good
Did I tell you that I'm ing it !!

I used to get that problem with my V+ although my screen just used to keep on trying but never quite getting there. I think I had to reboot my V+ to cure it or try switching to scart and back to HDMI.

you can see what each tuner is on at any time from the info pane. its the symbol that says "RRR" in circles.
As each tuner is buffering at all times, you can actually rewind live TV on three channels. Pretty nifty but can be confusing!

No, same thing happens. Switching it while the TV is on to SCART and back to HDMI kills it as well.

The input on my tv can be toggled with one button too so should work.

did you input a specific code to get the volume to work or did you use the method where it finds its own code and turns the TV off?

engineer programmed it. He used a code listed under toshiba 0039 I think.
When I get home I'm going to reprogram and try all the tosh codes (there are about 20) and see if I can find one that has full functionality.

Sounds like a HDMI issue with either the box or the TV. Can you hook the tivo up to another HDMI display and see if it works there? If it does, then get the box swapped now before you begin recording loads of stuff.
If it is the TV, you may need to see if there is a firmware update for it.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
I like the ability to press and hold the standby on the remote to put TV in standby.
Now if we could sort out the SCART source switching and screen mode.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
My Tivo seems to be defaulting to 720p in the Video Output Formats, and wont let me change it to 1080i (My Phillips TV is 1081i)
Any ideas?
