Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Took less than an hour to install for me so will not be long now for you, but need to be patient on the EPG download, so give it a day to be sure you can use all services.

TIVo in and up and running
A few problems at first, couldn't get the viewing card to pair, and signal to the box was poor.
A Quick phone call, changed viewing card and all OK
Checked all channels & HD premium on new card - So off to play

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
I mentioned to the engineer that I had the V Box upstairs and I wanted the V+ that my Tivo was replacing to be moved upstairs so he could take away the V Box.
His jobsheet and PDA both just had down a straight install, despite me requesting the move at time of ordering Tivo and also confirmed this when I called yesterday.
Guy done it no bother though, took him 2 mins to do. Mentioned to him about the HD package I had on my V+ box and he said that would stay in the V+ upstairs and I would have HD on my Tivo too.. that doesn't seem right though?

Yes, there are some technical issues that Virgin are aware of with the Remote Record, they are being investigated

Does that mean my issue with the channel 0 message is a known problem and being sorted?

I was told I could hold down off and it would turn both off.
I've got a 42 inch toshiba VX series LCD. Anyone else had issues?
The remote does work for volume and mute.
Cheers

Nope - got it to work for volume and mute. The only time it turned TV off/on was when programming it to find its own code. Would love it if it did work as that's the only think I miss from the old V-box/shark remote days.
edit to add...

w00t!! TY for that. I wasn't holding it down long enough so it was just turning the box on and off so I figured it wasn't the right button (and on another thread someone said hold the TV button which didn't work)
works now!!

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Had my TiVo installed this morning (and my existing V HD + box moved to the bedroom to replace my standard existing V HD that was in there).
Had a little play with it, very quickly as had to leave soon after for a couple of days, but it all seemed very impressive!
Shame though that when I went online later to try and send over some recordings, the online TV guide's ability to set recordings onto our TiVo's isnt working today :-(
Cant wait to play with it all properly once up and running.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Blimey, that took a while.
My account wasn't set up for TiVo, then the 1st box installed kept re-booting. Took them over a hour to fix it those issues.
Playing with my new toy now. I'm sure I have the same issue as reported by other posters, regarding no VOD content slowing up in searches. For instance, I can watch Smallville on TV Choice on Demand, but I can't find the option to watch it via VOD from a search - that only reveals upcoming Smallville episodes from the EPG.
The SD image is softer (on my Samsung 40" C650, picture set at 720p) but not to the point of "Oh my Gawd, that's SOFT!"
So far, the speed of the box is OK. One or two brief pauses here and there, nothing too serious.
Running into the PIN issue already. At one point, the Tivo thought that BBC 1 was a adult channel , and insisted that I enter a PIN to watch that channel, that issue seems to have gone away since.
